Thoughts

Yes I know I left you guys hanging. I apologize. I've just been praying and seeking the Lord on some things lately, and then school began and my dual enrollment classes are time consuming. It is not necessarily that I've been too busy; I just really want to make this blog meaningful, and I needed to reshape my vision a bit. There are some ideas I have in the works and I am also possibly going to do a redesign. One of my classes this year is Digital Media, so that should help since I am horrible with technology. I can tell you that I am going to be moving more towards a lifestyle blogger and posting more than just style and fashion posts ( I find it annoyingly amusing that I have worn so many cute outfits since I stopped posting here). I would also like to incorporate weekly devotionals and discuss current events.I miiiight even put some music on here, we'll see. In addition, I have a secret project I'll let you in on soon. All in all, just as in life, great things are in store for The Girl In the Skirt. Besides the blog, you can always keep up with me on my Instagram, @nsimone.

Ecclesiastes 1:2
Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.

I love you all, but Jesus loves you more,
Thanks again,
See you soon babes,

Upstate NY/Canada Trip

Here are some pictures
from my recent trip to Upstate New York and Canada. I had a wonderful time. I always go to the city, so it was my first time in New York's "North Country." It is not for me, but it was beautiful to visit, and I got some great photography shots. This was also my first time in Canada. We hit up Niagara Falls, the Lakefront, and Toronto. The lakes are beautiful and Toronto reminded me of New York City, just cleaner and with a lot more greenery.Toronto was extra pretty because it was hosting the PanAm games this year.I also found this super cool vintage shop downtown.Niagara Falls was absolutely amazing. It was so powerful that you could feel the mist from the falls from more than 10 feet away. All in all, it was a great trip and I thank God I was able to go.

DailyLook

Untitled #2

As I mentioned a few posts back, I decided I would try a couple months of a styling subscription box called DailyLook Elite. How it works is that when you sign up, you take a style profile quiz so the stylist gets a feel for the things you would like. Your personal stylist selects items based on your preferences and sends 6-10 items to your door every month. The $20 monthly styling fee applies towards items that you keep. And for the free trial, your first two months are waived. My first box finally came and as promised, here it is.
My stylist, Sonja, did a fantastic job with my box. In my style profile, I told her about wanting to build a minimalistic wardrobe, and I think she was spot on. My box had 8 items worth a total of about $510.  I didn't keep anything because they were out of my price range. However, if you want the shoes, I did find them at Steve Madden on sale for A LOT cheaper. Your Welcome ;) I have included links for each of the items, given they are still on the site. If you think you might want to try a DailyLook Elite Box trial, feel free to sign up with this referral link: http://fbuy.me/coyvR
